ELKTON, Fla. — Dr. Bernie O. Coberly Jr., 83, of Coquina Crossings, Elkton, died Sept. 6, 2012 at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine.
Born June 23, 1929, to the late Dr. Bernie O. Coberly Sr and Evelyn Matthews Coberly, he was a loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Mona Lou Evans Coberly; two daughters, Suzanne Mc-Combs and Molly Coberly; and three grandchildren, Kristen Brabender, Benjamin McCombs and Kelly Mc-Combs. He is also survived by a sister, Amelia Allan.
Dr. Coberly served as a Captain in the U.S. Army at Fort Greely, Alaska, before establishing his forty-five year dental practice in Cumberland. He was a member of the Ali Ghan Shrine Club in Cumberland, The Royal Order of Jesters, Past President of The Rotary Club of Frostburg, Delegate to the Maryland State Dental Association, a member of the Arion Band, Jr. Order Band, of Mount Savage and the Octoberfest Band, of Oakland.
He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Mount Savage and Center Street United Methodist Church in Cumberland.
A military service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12 at the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
