PEGGY A. STOKES [Charlotte Hall]

 

CHARLOTTE HALL — Peggy Ann Stokes of Charlotte Hall, formerly of Riverdale, died on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring. She was 64 years old. 
Born on March 22, 1947 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Martha Blubaugh and the late Joseph Blair Hardman. 
A loving wife, mother and friend, Mrs. Stokes was a homemaker who enjoyed bowling, gardening, ceramics, volunteering with school and church. She was a pure giver and lover who would help anyone in need. She was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. 
She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph Blair Hardman and Martha Blubaugh; brother, Blair Hardman Jr.; sister, Dorothy Elizabeth Morgan; sisters-in-law, Betty Hardman and Alice Hardman. 
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert W. Stokes Sr.; son, Robert W. Stokes Jr. and his wife Tina of Charlotte Hall; daughters, Melissa A. Dougherty and her husband Daniel J. Dougherty Sr. of Mechanicsville, Marlee L. Stokes of Charlotte Hall; brothers, Kenneth Hardman and his wife Betty, Carroll Hardman and his wife Alice, Robert Hardman and his wife Ruby of Barton, Royce Hardman and his wife Micky, Lloyd Hardman and his wife Evelyn, Willis Hardman and his wife Sandy of Cumberland; sisters, Donna and her husband Don Cessna of Clearville, Pa., Judy and her husband Den Cessna of Clearville;  grandchildren, Micheal A. Jones, Cortney L. Windsor, Daniel J. Doughtery Jr., Robert W. Stokes III, Andrew T. Doughtery, Jacob W. Stokes and Olivia R. Parham. 
Visitation on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A. 5635 Washington Ave., La Plata, MD 20646 where funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012 beginning at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fred Iser officiating. 
Pallbearers will be Robert "Junior" Stokes, Jr., Dan Dougherty, Daniel Dougherty, Mark McKinney, Rick Stokes and Doug Casteel. 
Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf.
