BUFFALO MILLS, Pa. — Maxine L. Keel, 82, of Buffalo Mills, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Pennknoll Village, Everett.
Born April 5, 1930, in Fairhope; she was a daughter of the late Howard R. Sr. and Sue Alice Rae (Merkel) Shaffer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sherman J. Keel Jr. in 1986; sisters, Virginia Snyder, Charlotte Lehr, Lois Whitacre and Kate Auvil; brothers, George, Robert , Willard, and Howard Shaffer.
She is survived by a son, Mike L. Keel and wife Robin of Hyndman; a daughter, Donna Zimmerman and husband Mike of Buffalo Mills; grandchildren, Jason Zimmerman and wife Cindy, Kerry Dawson and husband Tony, Justin Keel and wife Kesha; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Keel was a clerk at Jerry’s Market and B and B Market, she worked at Kings Department store and County Market.
She was a member of the First United Church of Christ and Woodsmen of the World.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence St., Hyndman on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kenneth Haines officiating.
Burial will be in Hyndman Cemetery.
