CLEARVILLE, Pa. — Mary Elizabeth (Martin) Eby, 85, a resident of the Mennonite Fellowship Home, 12349 Huyett Lane, Hagerstown, formerly of Beans Cove, Clearville, passed from this life on Oct. 4, 2012 at the home.
Born Jan. 23, 1927, in Washington County, Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Samuel K. and Iva P. (Martin) Martin. She was the wife of Harold Lehman Eby who preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 2012. They were married on March 6, 1946. She was a homemaker.
Mary was a member of the Flintstone Mennonite Church.
Mary is survived by two sons, Donald R. Eby and wife, Linda, of Clearville, Lauren E. Eby and wife, Esther, of Quetzaltenango, Guatemala; three daughters, Ellen M. Martin and husband, Clifford, of Hagerstown, Esther L. Ruble and husband, Steven, of Woodville, Texas and Elaine K. Miller and husband, James, of Hagerstown; 35 grandchildren and 90 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Aletha E. Hostetter (husband, John, deceased) of Hagerstown, and Vesta L. Martin (husband, Carl, deceased) of Greencastle, Pa.; three brothers, Donald E. Martin (wife, Ellen, deceased) of Columbia, Samuel W. Martin and wife, Elizabeth, of Hagerstown, and Elvin L. Martin and wife, Esther, of Millersville, Pa.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Eunice L. Petre (wife of Mahlon); and two grandsons, Lowell and Marvin Miller.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Flintstone Mennonite Church, Flintstone, with the Church Ministry officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Flintstone Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Reiff Mennonite Church, 17433 Reiff Church Road, Hagerstown, and from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland.
The family requests that flowers be omitted.
