CUMBERLAND — Ethel Marie “Dot” Jones, 83, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born July 18, 1929, in Cumberland, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Stanton Ellis Simons and Edith Irene (Cubbage) Simons. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John R. “Jack” Jones, on Feb. 5, 2009.
A homemaker, Dot was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, and 500 Card Club, and was an avid golfer.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey L. Jones and wife Barbara and Robert A. Jones and wife Deborah, all of Hagerstown and her granddaughters, Jennifer Dick and husband Adam, Carly Jones and Megan Jones, all of Hagerstown.
A memorial service will be conducted in the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bernadette Ross officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
