CUMBERLAND — Ramon “Stan” William Stanley, 58, of Cumberland, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, Va.
Born Sept. 18, 1954, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late William Stanley and Anna Mae (Reed) Stanley. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, William “Huey” Stanley and twin brother Ray, “Porky” Stanley.
He was retired from City of Cumberland Street Department, was an U.S. Army veteran, a graduate of Connelly Trade School for Culinary Arts, a member of Bethel Church of the Nazarene, where he assisted with cooking for various church events.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Onzella Stanley; six daughters, Julia Jackson, of Clarksburg, W.Va., Janet Jackson, of Clarksburg, Tina Jackson, of Cumberland, Louanna Brown, of Cumberland, Jessica Giles, of Baltimore and Nikki Griffin, of Pittsburgh; one brother, Shaun Stanley, of Pittsburgh; three sisters, Denise Stanley, of Pittsburgh, Shelley Stanely, of Pittsburgh and Betty Mckinster and husband Steve, of Virgina; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and special friends, Larry Banks, Tony Green, John Cates, Jim Carr, and Donnie Irons.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday in the funeral home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Dayhoff officiating.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the American Legion Honor Guard.
