HAGERSTOWN — Harold Russell Gillum, 73, of Hagerstown, went to be with his Lord on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 at Meritus Medical Center.
Born Sept. 11, 1938 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Kenneth N. and Nora Virginia Baker Gillum.
He graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1959, and served in the U.S. Marines.
He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He retired from the State of Maryland as a Juvenile Police Officer.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Gillum; a daughter, GailLynn C. Klick and husband Joseph R. of Hagerstown; two brothers, Norval K. Gillum of Florida and Herbert Lee Gillum of Cumberland; two grandchildren, Candice Beane and James R. Klick.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Gillum.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Jack Payne will officiate.
Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
