AURORA, W.Va. — Kenneth Willard Cooper, 77, of Aurora, passed away Nov. 7, 2012 at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
He was born May 5, 1935 in Dryfork, W.Va., a son of the late Benjamin Eston and Ethel Catherine Harper Cooper. He was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Feather Cooper; son, Daryl Cooper; brothers, Harding, Howard and Eston Junior Cooper; and infant sister, Beatrice.
He is survived by one son, Derick Cooper of Aurora; two daughters, Denise Cooper, Cumberland, Darinda (Kevin) Turley, Short Gap, W.Va.; three sisters, Lois Davis, Roanoke, Va., Marie Matheny, Ohio, Marilee Huntley, California; 10 grandchildren, Justin and Jason Bachtel, Jennifer Robinson, Joni Miller, Nathan Turley, Michael Shay, Misty Hedrick, Tim and Emily Cooper, Ashley Lawrence; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cooper was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed working on the farm as well as hunting. He retired as a mechanic for Mettiki coal mines.
Friends will be received Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis, W.Va. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mark Hickman officiating.
Interment will follow in Flanagan Hill Cemetery.
