CUMBERLAND — Bruce David Meckley, 50, of Cumberland, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at his home.
Born Nov. 28, 1961 in Gettysburg, Pa., he was the son of Robert H. Meckley and Joyce E. (Brown) Meckley. He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Meckley worked in sales for various companies. His truest passion was his family who he cared for very much. Mr. Meckley’s other passion was for sports. For a time he played semi-pro baseball in Fredericksburg, Va.; as a fan he was behind Maryland teams, the Ravens, Orioles, and Terps.
Surviving are his mother, Joyce E. Meckley; mother of his children, Linda K. Mahew of New Oxford, Pa.; one daughter, Kelsey Meckley of New Oxford; three sons, Robert Meckley and wife Rachel of Cumberland, Andrew Meckley of Cumberland, and Brady Meckley, New Oxford; two sisters, Jill Meckley, and Kim Selepak and husband David; and three nephews, Matthew Meckley, Thomas Meckley, and Tyler Selepak.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, (www.scarpellifh.com) on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 from noon until 1 p.m. Immediately following will be a memorial service with Pastor David Hattenfield officiating.
