MOUNT SAVAGE — Mary Katherine Beal, 94, of Mount Savage, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Allegany Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born Oct. 18, 1918, in Reedsville, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Travis and Mabel (Zinn) Shoemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester K. Beal; a brother, Robert Shoemaker and best friend and sister-in-law, Pauline Shoemaker.
She is survived by sons Edwin E. Beal and wife Ohlee and J. Glenn Beal, both of Mount Savage; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nephews.
Mrs. Beal was a homemaker and a member of the Wellersburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and loved inviting people in for meals.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence St., Hyndman, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Haines officiating.
Burial will be at Cooks Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help defer funeral expenses.
