WELLERSBURG, Pa. — Susan L. Getz, 86, of Wellersburg, Pa., passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 25, 1926, in Acosta, Pa., Mrs. Getz was the daughter of the late Carl Sturtz and Leona (Thomas) Sturtz. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay W. Getz; a son, Timothy Getz; a sister, Betty Shockey and a brother, Karl Sturtz.
Susan was a retired self-employed Beautician and and co-owner of the Mason-Dixon Furniture Store. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Wellersburg, Pa.
Susan is survived by her son, Gary L. Getz Sr. and wife Charmaine, of Corriganville and her daughter, Sandra M. Eberly, of Wellersburg, Pa. Susan is also survived by her sister, Doris Miller, of Meyersdale, Pa.; her grandchildren, Gary Getz Jr. and wife Lacy, of LaVale, Michael Getz and wife Christy, of Ridgeley, W.Va., Brandon Eberly and wife Tracy, Jarett Eberly and fiancee Christy and Staci Holbrook and husband Jamie, all of Hyndman, Pa., as well as ten great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Greg Miller officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Gary Getz Sr., Gary Getz Jr., Michael Getz, Brandon Eberly, Jarett Eberly and Jamie Holbrook.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the Susan’s caregiver, Susan Shaffer, as well as to Dr. Schmidt and Dr. Sidhu.
