CUMBERLAND — Betty Marie Norris, 79, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 at home.
Born July 9 ,1933 in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert M. Castleman and Edith (Myers) Castleman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William R. Norris; one son, Jeffrey Norris; three brothers, Roy, Bruce and Fred Castleman; and one sister, Faye Harbaugh.
Mrs. Norris was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, class of 1951.
She was a retired secretary of PPG and had previously worked at Cumberland Steel.
She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church where she had volunteered in many areas. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include her son, Steve Norris, Kernersville, N.C.; one brother, James Castleman, Cumberland; two sisters, Mae Adcock, Cumberland and Dorothy Smith, Akron, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Shawn and Ashley Norris, both of Kernersville.
A memorial service will be conducted at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tormod Svensson officiating.
