BLOOMINGTON — Mary Magdalene Rawlings, 87, of Bloomington, passed away on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Moran Manor Nursing Center, Westernport, where she had been a resident.
Born March 4, 1925 in Swanton, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Susan (Bittinger) Rawlings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Orvel R. Rawlings; an infant sister, Lola Helen Rawlings; and brother, Oberlin E. Rawlings.
Mary was a member of the Bloomington United Methodist Church, and had been employed as a home care giver for several years.
She leaves behind her sisters, Roberta Reeves and husband George of Swanton, Donna Maye Seaton of Walkersville, and Doris Faye Walker and husband Joe of Florida. She is also survived by a special niece, Roberta “Bunny” Rawlings of Webb, Ala., who Mary helped to raise; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and three great-great-nieces.
At Mary’s request, her body was cremated.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Bloomington United Methodist Church on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Rankin officiating.
