OAKLAND — Celia Kathleen O’Brien, 95, of Oakland, died on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at her home.
Born on March 10, 1917, in Swanton, she was the daughter of the late Troxell and Mary Myrtle (Hoopengarner) Tichnell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. O’Brien in 1983 and two brothers, Hershell and Lewis Tichnell.
She was a homemaker and member of the New Life Christian Church.
She is survived by three sons, Raymond O’Brien, of Seville, Ohio, Joseph H. O’Brien Jr. and Charles O’Brien, both of Terra Alta; five daughters, Helen (Heath) Harsh, Mary O’Brien, W. Sue O’Brien and Janice L. Winebrenner, all of Oakland and Eleanor Craft, of Dillwyn, Va.; four sisters, Avanelle Virts, of Swanton, Norma Hamilton and Jane Borror, of Keyser and Wilma Lahman, of Portage, Mich.; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A, 21 N. 2nd St., Oakland, on Thursday, Feb. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Kitzmiller officiating.
Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
