SEVILLE, Ohio — William A. Swenskie 84 of Seville, formerly of Streetsboro, Ohio, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013.
He was born Dec. 13, 1928 in Clarksburg, W.Va., to William and Mary (Bohensky) Swenskie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Elizabeth (Jenkins) Swenskie; daughter, Mary Kay Niemiec; sisters, Mary Joan and Dolores; and brother, Anthony.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, retired from Chrysler Corporation in Twinsburg as a Die Setter Supervisor, was a gifted cabinet maker, a charter member of the Akron Silver League Slo Pitch and Travel Teams, enjoyed Harley Davidsons, bowling, hunting, fishing , his little buddy Kobe and most of all watching his grandchildren play sports.
Survivors include his loving wife, Marty (Hastings) Easton-Swenskie; daughters, Betty Lou (Ed) Skidmore, Nadine (Darryl) Wamplers, Danita (Joe) Srodek, Dawn (Brian) Rice and Danna (Burch) Vandergriff; sons, James (Tracy Reuter) Swenskie and Dan (Thelma) Easton; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grand-child; brother, John Swenskie; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends including special cousins, Dolores Furratti and Gloria Masters.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2012 from 11 a.m. until noon at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Midland (www.eichhornmckenzie.com).
A graveside service will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg, at 12:30 p.m. with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating. Military Rites will be accorded by Farrady Post 24 America Legion Honor Guard.
