BOW, N.H. — Margaret “Jean” (Carr) Sargent, wife of Durwood G. Sargent, died suddenly at home in Bow, on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.
She is the daughter of Leoda Fern (Kimble) Carr Cox and the late Thomas A. Carr. She was born Oct. 24, 1948 in Dawson. She was a graduate of Bruce High School, Westernport, class of 1966.
Durwood and Jean met in Washington DC in 1966 where Jean was working and Durwood was in the U.S. Navy. They were married in Rockville in 1967.
Jean loved to be with her grandchildren and her special cat “Baby”. She will be most remembered by friends and family for her laugh, her kindness and how much everyone loved her. She was known to many as “mom”, from infants to teenagers whose lives she touched with her special caring concern for them. She will be greatly missed by her family and many who knew her.
She is survived by her mother, Leoda and stepfather, George Cox of New Creek, W.Va.; her husband, Durwood Sargent of Bow; a son, Craig Sargent and his wife Sandra and their two children Allesandra and Thomas all of Bow; her daughter, Jennifer Donoghue and her son Kyle Frisbee of Bow; a sister, Debbie and husband Mike Rinker of New Creek; her brother, Paul Carr and his wife Barbara of McCoole; sister-in-law, Alice Kimble of McCoole; three stepbrothers, Craig Cox and his wife Barbara, Donald Cox and his wife Barbara both in Keyser, W.Va. and Mike Cox of Winchester, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother, George Kimble; and a granddaughter, Brooke Fern Donoghue.
There will be a service of remembrance Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at 6 p.m. with reception to follow at the Bow Mills United Methodist Church, 505 South Street, Bow, N.H.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Concord-Merrimack County SPCA Building Fund, 130 Washington St., Penacook, NH 03303
The Waters Funeral Home, Concord, N.H. is in charge of the arrangements.
