IOWA PARK, Texas — Rosalie Jean (Rose) Godwin, 74, of Iowa Park, Texas, died Thursday, Jan 3, 2013.
A daughter of the late Dorothy Lillian (Fatkin) and John Theodore Davis, Rose was born Oct. 30, 1938, in Vale Summit.
She and William Everett Godwin were married March 19, 1955, in Cumberland.
Rose worked as a secretary for Ameren prior to her retirement. She was a member of Faith Chapter 713 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid golfer who was passionate about her game.
Rose was also preceded in death in 1994 by her husband, William Everett Godwin, and by all of her siblings.
She is survived by her six children, Cathy Frost, of Ridgeley, W.Va., sons, Bill Godwin and wife Sharon, of Iowa Park, Michael Godwin and wife Helen, of Wichita Falls and Rusty Godwin and wife Judy, of Keyser, W.Va.; daughter, Jennifer Raasch and fiance Wade, of Redwing, Minn. and son, Jeff Godwin and wife Connie, of Iowa Park; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grand-child; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013. in the Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Rucker officiating.
Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls, Texas.
