OLDTOWN — Lewis Wayne Joy Jr., 37, of Oldtown, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012.
Born June 20, 1975, in Cumberland, Wayne was the son of Lewis Wayne Joy Sr., of Little Orleans and Hilda (Peck) Whorton, of Oldtown.
He was also preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Bessie and Elmer Joy; his paternal grandparents, Lewis A. and Margaretta (McCusker) Joy; his paternal stepgrandfather, Charles Whorton; his uncle, Gary Whorton; his nephew, Justin Dilley and a cousin, Andrew Barger.
A graduate of Flintstone High School, class of 1994, Wayne was a self-employed concrete finisher. He was a member of the Piney Plains United Methodist Church.
Besides his parents, Wayne is survived by his daughter, Kayenne Rayne Joy, of Everett, Pa.; his stepfather, John Whorton, of Oldtown; his stepmother, Donna Joy, of Little Orleans; his brothers, Keith Allen Joy and his significant other Johanna Brode and Charles “Buck” Whorton and his fiancee Amber Thomas and his sister, Jennifer Ternent and husband Robbie, all of Oldtown. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Margaret Peck, of Cumberland; his paternal stepgrandmother, Ruth Ann Whorton, of Oldtown; his stepsisters, Elizabeth Hill and Autumn Mason; his stepbrothers, Andrew Hill and Brian Hill; as well numerous cousins; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles, and close friends.
Family and special friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Sam Biser officiating.
Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Keith Joy, Buck Whorton, Robbie Ternent, Ryan Joy, Bill Joy and Roy Fletcher.
Wayne will be truly missed by all. He dearly loved his family and friends.
