HYNDMAN, Pa. — Agnes L. “Bunch” Johnston, 91, of Hyndman, Pa., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 28, 1912, in Sharpsburg, she was a daughter of the late John and Eva (Bender) Knode. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James D. Johnston; sisters, Dorothy Williams, Mildred Remsburg and Anna Sperow and brothers, William, Ellis and Roland Knode.
She is survived by children, James L. Johnston and wife Martha Jane, of Dunn, N.C., Bobby W. Johnston and wife Barbara, of Coco Beach, Fla., Suzanne Emerick and husband Steve, of Hyndman and Jan S. Johnston and wife Barbara, of Titusville, Fla.; brothers, Robert and David Knode, both of Hagerstown, special sister-in-law, Helen Lehman, of Bedford; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and her dog, Candi.
Mrs. Johnston was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hyndman; United Methodist Women, Order of Eastern Star, Bedford Springs Chapter 41 and the Hyndman Senior Citizens.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home Inc., 169 Clarence St., Hyndman, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church, 1st Ave., Hyndman.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church, 1st Ave., Hyndman, with the Rev. Kenneth Haines and the Rev. Beverly Roscoe officiating.
Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 609, Hyndman, PA 15545.
