CUMBERLAND — Lyla Jo Davis, 67, Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012.
Born Aug. 3, 1945, she was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl M. Ziler; one brother, William Ziler and one great-grandson, Devin Kurz.
She was well known by patrons of Charlie’s Paddock, where she bartended for many years. She was also a member and employed by the Redman Club. She was beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She had a very caring and kind heart.
Surviving are her children, Brenda Royer and husband John, of Springfield, W.Va., Gary Ravenscroft Jr., of Morgantown, W.Va., Richard Ravenscroft and wife Hazel, of Cumberland, Melissa Davis, of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Dina Davis, of Cumberland. She is also survived by one brother, John Ziler and wife Judy, of Merryville, Tenn. and her twelve grandchildren, Paula Humbertson and husband Dewayne, Jocelyn Handy and husband Jared, David Shanholtz, Brandi McDonald, Hannah Royer, Tyler, Cody and Brittany Ravenscroft, Kylee and Elayna Ravenscroft, Samantha Davis, who she raised, Travis Davis, Patrick Martin, Shyanne and Charmane Wigfield and Sharnel Race. She also had four great-grandchildren, Creedyn Kurz, Addison Lewis, Caiden Humbertson and Skylar Watson. She had family and friends who loved her very much and will be missed by many.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., (www.scarpellifh.com) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Redman Ladies Petunia Council 10 will hold a memorial service in her honor on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Peters officiating.
Interment will be in Woodrow Cemetery, Paw Paw, W.Va.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, David Shanholtz, Tyler Ravenscroft, Cody Ravenscroft, Patrick Martin, Dwayne Humbertson and Jared Handy.
