CRESAPTOWN — John Samuel Robison, Jr., 66, of Cresaptown, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the Lions Center for Rehabilitation and Extended Care.
Born Jan. 27, 1947, in Cumberland, Mr. Robison was the son of the late John Samuel Robison, Sr., and Deretha May (Knippenberg) Robison.
John was a graduate of Allegany High School, Class of 1965, where he was a member of the Allegany High School Marching Band. He was a United States Army Veteran during the Vietnam Era and a retired truck driver for various companies with 42 years of service. John was a long-time member of the Cresaptown United Methodist Church.
John is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cynthia “Cindy” A. Robison; his daughters, Jacqueline Robison and fiancé, Michael Lewis, and Julia A. Robison, all of Cresaptown; his sister, Suella Habersack and husband, Steve, Cumberland; and his granddaughter, Sophia Lewis, Cresaptown.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Harold McClay officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 172 Color Guard.
