FLINTSTONE — Harold Lee Barnes, 83, of Flintstone, passed away on Feb. 2, 2013, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Born Sept. 28, 1929, to the late Herman and Zera (Jordan) Barnes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Carl Barnes; and one nephew, Paul Barnes Jr.
Harold graduated from Flintstone High School and served in the United States Navy. He retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company and was an avid hunter and champion breeder and trainer of dogs. He enjoyed playing guitar, sang in many bands, and loved playing golf. He also loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Elsie (Bridges) Barnes; one daughter, Lu Ann (Hebner) McKenzie and husband Buddy; granddaughters, Heather Adams, Laura (Adams) Yost and husband Bill; grandson, J.C. McKenzie; great-grandsons, Zachary and Tucker Yost, whom he lovingly referred to as “my boys”; brother, Paul Barnes; and sister, Naomi Thomas and husband Tom; numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

Interment will be at the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Scarpelli Funeral Home is handling the arrangements and services will be private.
