CUMBERLAND — Ellen Jane Robinette, 72, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at the West Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 27, 1940, in Cumberland, Mrs. Robinette was the daughter of the late Samuel Charles Morgan and Pearl Irene (Friedline) Morgan. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Oster.
A graduate of Flintstone High School, class of 1958, and Tri-State Beauty Academy, Ellen was a retired beautician. She was a life-member of the Prosperity United Methodist Church, Flintstone, and a member of the Daughters of the Nile. Ellen enjoyed painting, reading, and being with her family who she dearly loved.
Ellen is survived by her husband of 54 years, Edward T. “Ted” Robinette Sr.; her son, Edward T. “T.R.” Robinette Jr. and wife, Cindy, Flintstone; and her daughter, Cindy “Pete” Crass and husband, Paul, Cumberland. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Judy and husband, Bill, Cumberland; and her grandchildren, Jacob Robinette and friend, Pam and her children who were like great-grandchildren to her, Lilah and Bailey, Swanton, Jessica Williamson and husband, Ben, Mt. Sterling, Ky. and Forhest Crass, Cumberland.
Ellen Jane has elected to donate her body to science.
A memorial service will be held at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Wayne Sloan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Prosperity United Methodist church, Post Office Box 2, Flintstone, MD 21530.
The family would like to thank all of Ted and Ellen Jane’s wonderful friends and neighbors for being there for them over the course of her illness. We would also like to thank the nurses and staff of 7 South of the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
