ECKHART — Mary Jane Pifalo, 82, of Eckhart, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at Frostburg Village Care Center.
Born Sept. 22, 1930 in Eckhart, to the late Nathan and Mildred (Porter) Porter. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a infant son; and a nephew, William Dennis Porter.
Mary Jane was co-owner of Pifalo Incorporated and a member of Eckhart United Methodist Church and The Frostburg Rotary Club. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening, cooking and lending a helping hand whenever needed.
Surviving are two sisters, Mina Pifalo, Pittsburgh, Pa. and Shirley Robertson, Eckhart; one brother, William Porter, Eckhart; niece, Denese Yeager, Morgantown, W.Va.; two nephews, Bradley Pifalo, Pittsburgh and Warren Porter, Eckhart.
Friends and family will be received at Durst Funeral Home P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 from 10 a.m. until noon and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rebecca Vardiman officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Eckhart Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution can be directed towards The Frostburg Village, New Horizon, Unit 1, Kaylor Circle, Frostburg, MD 21532.
