SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Rae Carole Bradshaw, 71, of Short Gap, W.Va., died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at her residence.
Born Aug. 9, 1941, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Ray Emmart and Susan (Hanft) Emmart. She was also preceded in death by a special aunt, Daisy Kidwell, who had raised her.
Rae Carole was a graduate of Fort Ashby High School and Catherman’s Business School.
During the early 1960’s, she had worked for Allegany Ballistics Laboratory as a secretary and in the mail room. Mrs. Bradshaw was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Roger Bradshaw; loving daughters, Carole Moreland and husband Jimmy, of Short Gap and Darlene McDonald and husband Michael, of Fort Ashby; two grandchildren, Mindy Aldridge and Dakota Moreland and her three four-legged furry grandchildren, Maxine, Cuddles, and Sparkle.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from noon until 1 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Martha Ognibene officiating.
Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Lindsay, Corey Lindsay, Gary Hampson, Lee Day, Harry “Fuzz” Bradshaw and Leon Drumheller.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to her caretaker, Sheila, for all the years she helped care for Rae Carole. They also appreciate the staff of Potomac Valley Hospital Hospice for the kind, compassionate care they provided, Wanda, Roberta, Marsha, Nicole, Cheree and Connie, along with Dr. Wonsock Shin. Over the years, her sister-in-law, Jean Day, was always available to help out when she had doctors’ appointments, was in the hospital, or needed assistance at home. Thanks also to Sue Hampson for her assistance.
