FROSTBURG — Mary “Katie” Catherine Davis, 79, of Frostburg, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 16, 1933, in Midland, to the parents, Leonard Dye and Helen (Smith) Dye; she is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl “Dutch” Davis and a twin sister, Leona Houdersheldt.
Katie worked at Frostburg Hospital as a nursing assistant and formerly worked at the Princess Restaurant. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed Sundays at High Rock.
Surviving are her children, Robert “Bobby” Lyons and wife Kathy, of Cummings, Ga., Terri Kitis and husband Dave, of Finzel and Kay Beachy and husband Mike, of Barton; she was affectionately called “Ging” by her eight grandchildren, Michael Kitis and wife Emmy, Dwayne Kitis and wife Amanda, Krista Kitis and Clyde, Sean Lyons and wife Courtney, Justin Beachy and partner Tim, Tiffany Moran, Keri Lyons and Kimberly Lyons and eleven great-grandchildren, Madison, Landan, Terilyn, Garrett, Caleb, Kylee, Rylee, Cody, Brady, Aidan and Liam. Also surviving is one sister, Frances Crowe, of Lonaconing and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received at Durst Funeral Home P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
Following visitation, funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 5:30 p.m. with Pastor Diane Smith officiating.
Following the funeral services Katie’s cremains will be scattered on the Beachy farm in accordance with her wishes.
