CUMBERLAND — Paul Ours Rexrode, 85, of Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 27, 1927, in Antioch, W.Va., he was the son of the late Henry Brooke and Viola Mae (Feaster) Rexrode. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice Mae (Kimble) Rexrode and his step-granddaughter, Carrie Stal-lings House.
Mr. Rexrode was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of Keyser High School and became certified as a watchmaker and jeweler. He was employed at Westvaco from which he retired in 1989. Paul was a member of the United Brethren of Christ Church in Fountain, W.Va., for fifty years, and was a charter member of the Upper Potomac Vintage Car Club.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” (Allison) Stallings Rexrode and three sons, Paul Ours Rexrode II, of Richmond, Va., David Brooke Rexrode, of Atlanta, Ga. and John Daniel Rexrode, of Seoul, South Korea. Paul is also survived by a grandson, David Paul Rexrode, of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Kenneth Brooke Rexrode, of Keyser; a sister, Katie Lu Kirk and husband Paul, of Keyser; two stepsons, Les Stallings Jr. and wife Carol, of Brentwood and Stephen Stallings and wife Debbie, of LaVale and one stepdaughter, Lisa Stallings, of California. Also surviving is his step granddaughter, Marni Hochard and husband Chris, of Cumberland; four step great-grandchildren, Stephen House, Kristen House, Michelle House and Tyler Hochard; a great-great-grandchild, David Jeffrey; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
It is Paul’s request that he be cremated.
Friends will be received at the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church, Fountain, W.Va., on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, from 1 to 2 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Dr. Rev. Daryl M. Elliot and the Rev. Floyd Bender officiating.
Inurnment will be held at Cabin Run Cemetery at a later date.
