CUMBERLAND — James D. Brown, 87, of Cumberland, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at WMHS Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 13, 1925, in Bresuis, W.Va.; he was the son of the late Martin and Eudora (Appel) Brown. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn R. (Phillips) Brown in 2009.
He is survived by sons, James ''Jimmy'' Brown of Cumberland, Michael Brown of Japan; a step son, Emmett Loy and wife Candy of Cumberland; a step daughter, Diane Gibbner and husband Ron of Hyndman; a sister Jeannie Welch of Florida; step grandchildren, Karen Pryor and husband Charles, Judy March, Leree Forrest and husband Mark, Ronnie Gibbner and wife Angela, Greg Gibbner and wife Katina, Jerry Gibbner and wife Brenda, Andrea Ebenshade and husband Paul, Rustina Jones and husband Ryan, Ray Calahan, Sarah March, and several great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Brown served in the US Navy during World War II. He had been a Cab Driver and a custodian.
At his request there will be no viewing.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Community Church, 287 Faith Church Rd., Hyndman, Pa. 15545.
