CUMBERLAND — Nancy E. Lyden, 75, of Cumberland, passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at the Golden Living Center, where she had resided since June.
Born in Cumberland, on Aug. 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the later Edward and Gladys (Porter) Kegg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. Lyden.
Nancy was the night nursing supervisor at Memorial Hospital. She was a graduate of Ursulaine Academy, Kings Daughter School of Nursing in Martinsburg, W.Va. For many years Nancy had been a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, and she was currently a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church. Nancy was a member of the Sultana Organization of the Alhambra Wamba Caravan 89. She along with her husband volunteered with the ACIT Basketball Tournament.
She is survived by her daughter, Kate Chantez and husband Glen of Denver, Colo.; two sons, Mike Ritter and Peggy Van Meter and Mike Lyden and wife Rose all of Cumberland; two brothers, Bill Kegg and wife Bev, Fort Ashby, W.Va, Tom Kegg, Cumberland; three grandchildren, Krissi Murphy, Joe Lyden and Josh Lyden, all of Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountains St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Those wishing to honor Nancy’s memory may do so, in lieu of flowers, make contributions to the ACIT Tournament in Care of the Alhambra Wamba Caravan 89.
