CUMBERLAND — Diana L. (Calderon) Emerick, 47, of Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 20, 1965, in Saugus, Calif., she was the daughter of Barbara (Goodfellow) Bible Chaney and the late Jimmy Kirkland Calderon. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cynthia Calderon Bennett.
She is survived by her husband, Jody Emerick; one daughter, Melissa Wolfe and husband Gerald, Shelbyville, Del.; two sons, Michael Hupe, Cumberland and David Hupe and wife Kelsey, Cumberland; one step-son, Tyler Emerick and wife Emily, Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Jennifer Growden and husband David, Fort Ashby, W.Va. and Melody Calderon, Friendsville; one brother, Christopher Bible and wife Gwen, Short Gap, W.Va.; four grandchildren Caleb Wolfe, Jacob Wolfe, Emily Hupe, and Sophia Hupe; and numerous nieces and nephews who referred to her as “Aunt Didi”; and her “Pride and Joy”, her “four legged child”, Teenie.
Diana was a 1983 graduate of Allegany High School. She was Methodist by faith. She enjoyed drawing, playing the guitar, camping, fishing, and floating in the river. She called herself a “Domestic Goddess” and her favorite gifts were the homemade ones.
Friends will be received at the Christ United Methodist Church on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 from noon until 1 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at the church at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.
A luncheon will be held at the Goodfellowship Club immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Schwab Cancer Center, 12500 Willowbrook Road, Cumberland, MD 21502.
