FROSTBURG — Charles E. Bittner, 71, of Frostburg, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2012 at the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center.
Born July 15, 1941 to parents, Charles V. Bittner and Edna M. (Murray) Bittner; he is preceded in death by his parents, two sister-in-laws, Leona Miller and Marion Miller; three brother-in-laws, Earl Miller, Hilton Miller and wife Bertha, and Ronnie James.
Mr. Bittner was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Frostburg and the Classy Chassis Car Club. He formerly worked at Frostburg Food Lion and retired from Price Beer Distributors as a Route Salesman.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Doris (Miller) Wilhelm Bittner; two sons, Earl K. Wilhelm and wife Susan, Lake Asbury, Fla., David A. Wilhelm and wife Linda, Frostburg; one daughter, Lisa Shrout and husband Roger, Fort Ashby, W.Va; grandchildren, Kristie Bloskey and husband Danny, Frostburg, children, Owen and Jozelyn, Jefre Wilhelm and wife Kristen, Pocomoke City, Brandon Wilhelm and son, Matthias, Houston, Texas and Anthony Rodriquez, Florida, Rebecca Rodriquez, Florida, John Vazquez, Florida, Samantha Vazquez, Florida, and Joshua Marquez, Florida. Also surviving are a brother, Bob Bittner and wife Sue, Mount Savage; one brother-in-law, Raymond Miller, Baltimore; one sister-in-law, Anna Mary James, Pasadena; numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
That clever and ingenious Pappy Chuck, he waited until Owen’s birthday to make the journey to be with God so he could have first dibs on being Owen’s Guardian Angel, well played, Pappy Chuck, well played.
Friends and family will be received at Durst Funeral Home P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Penny Pitts officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Danny Bloske, Jeff Muzzolo, Howard Lemmert, James Wiebrecht, Matthew Stieringer, Matthew Stieringer Jr.
