AVILTON — Mary Ann Garlitz, 54, of Avilton, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.
Born April 18, 1957, in Meyersdale, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Richard “Hook” and Virgie (Durst) Swauger. She was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Jerod Minnick; a brother, Robert Swauger and father-in-law, Albert Garlitz.
Mrs. Garlitz was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene Garlitz; son, Michael Garlitz and daughter, April Garlitz, both of Avilton; stepmother, Stella Swauger, of Grantsville; mother-in-law, Wanda Garlitz, of Avilton; two brothers, William Swauger, of Grantsville and Charles Swauger, of Winchester, Va.; a sister, Linda Hetz, of Frostburg and a stepbrother, Wayne Swauger, of Grantsville. She is also survived by her loving pets, Pedro, Daisy and Squirrel.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at 2 p.m. with Father Richard Gray officiating.
Interment will be in the St. Ann Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Hetz, Jason Smith, Marty Ritchie, Jason Garlitz, Travis Hetz and Ricky Hetz.
