BALTIMORE — Wanda
Jean Newman, 81, of Baltimore,
formerly of Franklin,
passed away Friday, Oct. 14,
2012.
Born May 31, 1931 in
Franklin, she was the daughter
of the late James Coleman
“Mutt” Trenum and Harriett
“Topsy” (White) Trenum. She
was also preceded in death by
her husband, Carl W. Newman
Sr.; a sister, Frances “Fritz”
Layton; and two daughters,
Carol Jean Newman and
Lucinda Ann Newman.
Jean attended Bruce High
School, Westernport. She was
a homemaker who raised her
children. Later in life she was
employed at Ames in Essex
until its closing. Jean was
thrilled to attend the first
Trenum Family Reunion in
June 2012 and visit with her
brothers and relatives.
She is survived by her three
children, Carl “Buddy” Newman
Jr., Pamela Hoesch and
James Brian Newman; 10
grandchildren, Angelina Zepp,
Bernie Brown Jr., Janel Johnson,
Keith Newman, Jennifer
Moss, Kevin Newman, Jamie
Newman, James Brian Newman
II, Tommy Combs, Troy
Combs; seven great-grandchildren,
Jordan Owens, Kyra
Mclendon, Liam Zepp, Catriona
Zepp, Donald Bryar Moss,
Isabella Brown, Contessa
Brown; and two brothers,
Allen “Skeeter” Trenum and
Bertram “Bert” White.
A memorial service was
held at the Connelly Funeral
Home of Essex on Thursday,
Oct. 18, 2012.
She was laid to rest at Oak
Lawn Cemetery, Baltimore.
