Ruby Lee Wright [Frostburg]


FROSTBURG — Ruby Lee Wright, 85, passed peacefully at home on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, surrounded by her son, John, her sister, Sally Lou and husband Troy, and her loving very dear friends, and proclaimed, “Did you hear the harps?” before passing.

Born Feb. 28, 1924, in Carlos, Ruby was the daughter of late Arch and Sally (Haines) Winters. Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, John Raymond Wright Sr., and three brothers, Bill, Don and Earl Winters.

Mrs. Wright was a homemaker and a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and dining out with family and friends.

Ruby is survived by her loving son, John Jr., who loved her and was her primary care giver for many years. Also surviving are two sisters, Sally Lou and husband Troy Wilburn, and Ann “Peaches” Winner, all of Frostburg, her sister-in-law, Alice Wright and brother-in-law, Joseph Wright, of Eckhart; a sister-in-law, Doris Hanna and husband Tommy, of Baltimore, brother-in-law, Ralph Wright and wife Bonnie, of Baltimore, a brother-in-law Harry Wright and wife Ebby, of Fort Ashby, W.Va., and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m.

The funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Timothy Smith officiating.

Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap.

Pallbearers are Ken Fisher, Richard Wright, Charley Barnard, Johnny Hanna, Ralph Wright and Tommy James.
