Sellers’ RBI gives Personal Best win

LAVALE — Derek Sellers hit a walk off single, scoring Bronson Becker from third, to give Personal Best a 4-3 win over Barrelville Outdoor Club Friday at Femi Field.

Sellers’ single came with one out, and was placed beyond the reach of the outfielders to easily score the winning run. Dave Rinehart hit two singles as Personal Best had a total of seven hits.

Brad Fitzgerald led Barrelville by hitting a two-run home run in the first inning, while Ryan Tipton and Garrett Dickel both finished with two singles each.

Personal Best (3-9)  will play the Cumberland Moose on Monday. Barrelville slips to 6-7.

BEL AIR — Cumberland Moose exploded for 22 runs and 22 hits Friday evening while sweeping Hite Roofing in an evening doubleheader at Bel Air Field.

Eli Souders hit a three-run home run to help Moose to 11 runs and 12 hits in an 11-4 win on the early game, while Hite was held to three hits during an 11-3 loss in the second.

Souders went deep during the third inning to send Moose to a 5-3 lead, and finished by adding a single in the 11-4 win. Colton Mathews added a triple and two singles, and Tanner Manning hit two doubles.

Hite Roofing collected two RBIs on one single from Chris Fram, and two singles from Devin Storey.

In the late game, Vinny Foreman and Nate Souders led Moose at the plate of the second game, with Foreman hitting two doubles and a single, and Souders hitting a double and a single with two RBIs. Jared Bittner added two singles and two runs, and Zach Steckman had two singles and three runs scored.

Both Ryan Keifer and Chris Fram hit a single and a scored a run for Hite.

Moose (8-7) plays Monday against Fort Ashby VFW at Frankfort.

OAKLAND — Damien Monroe hit a two-run base hit in North End Diamond Dogs’ seven-run sixth inning that propeled it over Frank Arnold Contracting Friday evening at Southern High School.

North End built a 6-2 lead through two and a half innings before Frank Arnold scored four in the bottom of the third to tie, then added a run in the fourth to take a 7-6 lead.

The Diamond Dogs, however, took control with their seven-run sixth and scored four more in the seventh. Frank Arnold managed two in the sixth and one in th seventh despite out-hitting North End 13-10.

The Dogs’ Cody Rodeheaver had two hits including a triple, Kyle Rosenberger and Beck Sherrard had RBI base hits and Andrew Sisler doubled and singled.

Ryan Bennett had three RBIs off of two hits to lead Frank Arnold. Derek Noble had three singles and Mason Dick two.

North End (9-4) visits WEPCO Federal Credit Union Monday in Westernport and Frank Arnold visits Chessie FCU Monday in Frostburg.

SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Dylan Wagoner and Jamison Jones combined to allow two runs on five hits, while their teammates supplied them with 11 runs and 11 hits as Fort Ashby VFW improved to 12-1-1 with a win over Casselman Valley Friday at Frankfort.

Austin Cook scored three runs on two singles, and Ollie Douthitt scored two runs on two singles. Jones and Wagoner both also contributed at the plate with two singles each.

Ben Lohr had Casselman’s only extra-base hit with a double.

Fort Ashby scored in every inning, scoring one lone run in the first, third and fifth innings, getting two in the second and three in each the fourth and fifth.

Fort Ashby will play Hite Roofing on Monday at Frankfort.

Barrelville    5


OAKLAND — Frank Arnold Contractors scored all seven of its runs in the first two innings and held off a late run by Barrelville ODC to collect the win Thursday evening at Southern High School.

Frank Arnold scored five runs in the first, and after Barrelville scored twice in the top of the second, added two more runs in the bottom of the inning. Barrelville scored its final three runs in the top of the seventh to pull the score to its final.

Dillion Bennett, Derek Noble, Mason Dick, Scott Bittinger and Jake Taylor all finished with two hits. Danny Sisler had a hit and scored a run.

Derek Taylor allowed four hits in a complete-game victory.
