OAKLAND — Northern finished first with a team score of 178, followed by host Southern at 182 in a five-team golf match Wednesday at Oakland Golf Club.
Mountain Ridge was third at 199, followed by Fort Hill at 215 and Allegany, which did not have a complete team.
Northern’s Austin Doerr was low medalist for the match with 36. Brian Lutton of Fort Hill had a 42, while Camen Seller of Northern came at 43.
Billy Gindlesberger and Evan Friend both shot 44 for Southern. Greg Edwards shot 49 for Mountain Ridge, while Devin Storey shot 50 for Allegany.
All five teams will play in today’s AMAC Tournament along with Keyser and Frankfort at Maplehurst with an 11 a.m. tee time. The tournament will be hosted by Mountain Ridge.
Thompson leads Petersburg to victory
DAVIS, W.Va. — Seth Thompson shot a 38 to lead Petersburg to victory in a five-team match at Canaan Valley on Wednesday.
Only five strokes separated the top three teams. Petersburg won with a score of 182, followed by Moorefield with 185 and Tucker County with 187. Keyser was fourth with 204 and East Hardy was fifth with 244.
Ryan Colaw shot a 44 for Petersburg, while Quincy Farley and Claude Drummond led Moorefield with 41s. Zach Evans had a 42 for Tucker County, Andrew Riley shot a 47 and Josh Bane a 48 for Keyser, and Caleb Leatherman led East Hardy with a 50.
Keyser plays again today, at 11 a.m., in the 18-hole Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament at Maplehurst Country Club.
