RAWLINGS — Tyler Whitaker and Joe Patterson each shot a tournament-low 44 to lead Mountain Ridge over three other teams in high school golf action on a hot Tuesday afternoon at Fore Sisters Golf Course.
The Miners finished with a 193, finishing nine strokes ahead of Keyser’s 202 and 13 ahead of Frankfort’s 206. Allegany had an incomplete team.
Evan Coleman led Keyser with a 45. Matt Landes had a 49 and Andrew Riley 50 for the Golden Tornado. Frankfort’s Ryan Hutchinson shot a 47. Blake Barker was next with a 51.
Devin Storey led Allegany with a 59.
Both Allegany, Mountain Ridge and Keyser play today and Thursday. The Campers and Miners will play at Oakland Country Club with Fort Hill, Southern and Northern. Keyser is at Canaan Valley for a match with Tucker County, East Hardy, Petersburg and Moorefield. Both matches begin at 4 p.m.
On Thursday, Frankfort joins the others in the Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference tournament at Maplehurst Country Club beginning at 11 a.m.
