ATK, G&G Tire teams win Crippled Children golf tournament
CUMBERLAND — The ATK team won the gross division and the G&G Tire team took net honors in the League for Crippled Children Golf Tournament Friday at the Cumberland Country Club.
The ATK team of John Crowe, Ken Tappe, Gregg Pratt and Mark Heltzel won with a gross 57.
The G&G Tire team of George Glotfelty, Garth Glotfelty, Sonny Browning and Don Parsons won the net title with a 54.
There were also morning and afternoon flight winners.
In the morning flight, the Western Maryland Beer Distributors team of Murray Gornall, Jerry Delaney, Eric Johnson and Sean Franklin won low gross with a 60, and the Adams Funeral Home team of Rob Adams, Jeff Grogg, Bobby Long and Bob Kroger won low net with a 55.
In the afternoon flight, the J&B Cigarettes team of Bucky Butts, Lyle Butts, Brian Butts and Kevin Johnson won low gross with a 58, and the First United Bank team of Ed Lease, Brian Appel, Travis Bohrer and Jason Sweitzer won low net with a 56.
Closest to the pins were Pratt on No. 1 on No. 15, Lapp on No. 6 with a hole-in-one, Dave Wertz on No. 10, Gus Bell on No. 12, and Garth Glotfelty on No. 18.
The men’s long drive was won by Eric Johnson, and the ladies long drive was by Terri Friend.
Garrett basketball camp begins Monday
MCHENRY — The Garrett Laker basketball camp for boys and girls entering grades 5 to 10 will be held June 21–24 at the Garrett College gym.
Registration will continue through Monday morning at 9 o’clock. The cost of the camp is $70 and each camper will receive a Personal Best Athletics camp bag consisting of shorts, shoe pack and t-shirt. Parents may download the camp form on the garrettcollege.edu athletics website.

Fort Hill to hold youth volleyball camp
CUMBERLAND — The Fort Hill volleyball program will hold its annual volleyball camp for students entering grades 2-9 June 22-24 at Fort Hill High School.
The camp will be divided into two sessions. The morning session, for girls entering grades 7 to 9, will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and costs $55 per camper. The afternoon session, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. for girls or boys entering grades 2 to 6, will cost $40.
Clinicians include Fort Hill head coach Joe Brewer, Potomac State College head coach Martha Ganoe and several area coaches and college players. Pre-registration is recommended since space is limited. To register, call Fort Hill High School at 301-777-2570, extension 322.
Mountain Ridge to host basketball camp
FROSTBURG — Mountain Ridge boys basketball coach Dave Hobel will hold a youth basketball camp June 28 to July 2 at Mountain Ridge High School.
The camp is for boys and girls entering the second through ninth grades in the fall and will be held in the school’s air-conditioned gymnasiums.
The boys camp will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m., and the girls camp will be from noon to 2:30 each day.
The cost is $50 and all participants receive a camp t-shirt. Individual skills will be stressed and campers will be grouped by grade. To register, call Hobel at 301-268-5331.
City Slo-Pitch golf outing June 21
CUMBERLAND — Any players, umpires or coaches from the old City Slo-Pitch Softball League are invited to play golf at Cumberland Country Club on Monday, June 21 at 11 a.m. Registration will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
The cost is $55 per player or $220 per foursome and the field is limited to 104 players. Currently there are 24 openings.
The fee includes golf, cart, prizes from the pro shop and food and drinks at Ashcats (former Dick & Clara’s) following golf.

FH football season tickets to go on sale
CUMBERLAND — Fort Hill High School football season tickets will be on sale the following days: June 21-24; June 28-July 1; and July 6-8. Tickets may be purchased in the main office from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m. All tickets must be picked up by July 8. The cost is $25. Tickets will not be available after this date; there will be no exceptions.

CRESAPTOWN — Final sign-ups for the PVAA Cresaptown Eagles pee-wee football and cheerleading will be today, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the pavilion on Darrows Lane in Cresaptown.

Dapper Dan Minor All-Star Game set
CUMBERLAND — The Dapper Dan Little League Minor Division All Star Game is set for Sunday June 27, 7 p.m. at Constitution Park Long Field.
The Dapper Division will have the field between 6 and 6:25 p.m. with the Dan Division going from 6:25 p.m. to 6:50 p.m.
The Dapper Division consists of Angels, Royals, Yankees, and Nationals. The Dan Division consists of Rangers, Red Sox, Astros, and Indians.
Shrine League goes to Woods Resort
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. — The Shrine Golf League will play at the Woods Resort near Hedgesville on Tuesday, June 22. Tee off will be at 10 a.m. and participants will meet at Ali Ghan Shriners parking lot at 8 a.m.
