Mountain Ridge boys, girls play
for state soccer titles Saturday at UMBC
BALTIMORE — The Mountain Ridge boys and girls soccer teams will be traveling to University of Maryland Baltimore Country for their Maryland Class 1A state championship games on Saturday. The boys play Brunswick at noon and the girls play Oakdale at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $8 for anyone seven years of age or older. Only MPSSAA passes will be honored.
To get to UMBC, take exit 12 off of Interstate 695 (Baltimore Beltway) and go west on Wilkins Avenue for about 1/4 mile. Take a left at the entrance of UMBC and then bear right onto the main campus loop. The stadium will be on the right-hand side. The main stadium parking lot is Lot No. 17. Spectator access to the stadium will be via the main (upper) gate only.
Mtn. Ridge hosts FH Friday for West title
FROTBURG — Mountain Ridge will host Fort Hill in the Maryland Class 1A West Region football championship game Friday evening. Kick-off time is 7 p.m. and admission, in accordance with MPSSAA regulations, is $5 for everyone seven years of age or older. Only MPSSAA passes will be honored. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. Nobody will be allowed in the stadium prior to 4:30 p.m. and seat-saving will not be permitted.
Girls soccer coaches to meet tonight
FROSTBURG — The meeting to pick this year’s All-Area girls soccer team will be held today, at Mountain Ridge High School, at 6 p.m.

Alco Gridiron Club meets today
CUMBERLAND — The Allegany Gridiron Club will meet today, 6 p.m., in the Allegany High School library. Topics to be discussed will be the annual football banquet, a holiday sale for the gridiron booth as well as taking down decorations from Homecoming. The meeting is open to current members and anybody interested in joining the Gridiron Club.
Tri-Towns league holds sign-up
WESTERNPORT — The Tri-Towns basketball league will hold a second sign-up today, 6 to 8 p.m., at the union office on Main Street in Westernport. The league is open to boys and girls, grades 1-8, in either the Westmar Middle School district, Bloomington school district or the old Piedmont school district. Pre-season youth tournament Dec. 1-11
KEYSER, W.Va. — The Keyser and Frankfort Tri-County League teams will host basketball tournaments Dec. 1 through Dec. 11.
There will be boys divisions for 6th, 7th and 8th grades played at Keyser Middle School. There will also be divisions for girls in 6th, 7th and 8th grades played at Frankfort Middle School.
The tournament is open to all teams, not just Tri-County League teams. The entry fee is $75. Format will be single elimination with a two-game guarantee. Deadline to enter is Nov. 21.

Raiders set youth roller hockey practice
CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland Raiders roller hockey team will hold youth roller hockey practices beginning this Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m., and will continue every Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Moon Glo Skating Rink on Bedford Road. The practices are for co-ed players ages 14 and under. Players can walk in Saturday or call Coach Pat Ferguson at 301-724-9086 for more information.
Seats available for WVU at Pitt bus
KEYSER, W.Va. — Seats remain available for the Nov. 26 West Virginia at Pittsburgh bus trip being hosted by the Potomac Valley Chapter of the WVU Alumni Association.
Kickoff off for the game will be at noon.
The bus will leave the Keyser Martin’s parking lot at 6 a.m. and will make a stop at CiCi’s Pizza in LaVale at 6:30 a.m.
The cost is $90 per person and includes a game ticket, refreshments and seat on the bus.
Membership dues is $7.50 per person and $10 for a couple.
