FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. — Luke Dempsey, Chris Pascoe and Sean Young earned All-State honors in leading Potomac State to Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association golf championship last week at Penn National.
The victory capped a dominting fall season for the Catamounts, who were 31-0 against junior college teams heading into the two-day tournament.
Potomac State won with a team score of 461 and a 20-stroke victory margin over runner-up Bucks County. Butler was third with a 486.
Dempsey finished second overall with rounds of 73 and 75 for a 4-over par 148 total. Ryan Fichter of CCAC-North, who shot 73-72 for a 1-over par 145.
Pascoe shot a season’s best 77 and a 79 to finish fourth at 156. Young was 10th after a second-round 80.
For the season, the Catamouns finished 44-0 and were also Western Pennyslvania Collegiate Conference champions.
“It was a great fall season and we accomplished all we could,’’ said Potomac State coach Aaron Edwards. “We are looking forward to the spring season and once again hope to have a chance to go to the National Tournament.”
The NJCAA national rankings will be released in mid-November. The spring golf sason begins in March.
