DAVIS, W.Va. — Zach Evans had a match-low 37 to lead Tucker County in a high school quadrangular golf match Thursday at Canaan Valley Resort.
Ethan Slaughbaugh shot a 40 for the Mountain Lions, who finished with a 175 team score. Moorefield was second at 187 behind 42s from Aaron Freeman and Seth Mongold. Seth Thompson had a 40 and Tanner Oates a 41 for third-placed Petersburg, which had a 191. East Hardy finished fourth with a score of 193 with Kolby Foltz scoring 43 and Tyler Warren 44.
Moorefield (9-1) will play Monday at the Highlands Golf Club with Pendleton, East Hardy and Petersburg.
Keyser takes tri-match
KEYSER, W.Va. — Keyser won a triangular Tuesday in high school golf play at Polish Pines Golf Course with 178 points, followed by Frankfort with 189 and Fort Hill with 218.
Evan Coleman came in at 40 for Keyser and Charlie Abernathey at 42. Frankfort’s Derek Malone shot a 46 and Fort Hill’s Josh Broadwater 49.
Keyser plays Berkeley Springs Monday at Cacapon.
