CUMBERLAND — Three Fort Hill Sentinels and Allegany’s Christian Thomas received honorable mention on the recently released Maryland 1A-2A All-State Football team.
The Sentinels were receiver Travis Bush, defensive lineman Cody Arigo and kicker Chris King. They join teammates Zac Elbin, who was listed as the all-purpose back, and teammate Preston Bryant, named as a lineman to the third-team offense after leading the Sentinels to a 9-3 record and a spot in the Maryland 1A West Region championship.
Thomas was named as a running back and joins two of the defensive leaders for the Campers, the Destefano brothers, Aniello and Antonio.
Thomas, a 6-foot, 170-pound senior, finished with 1,083 yards rushing on 93 attempts for an average of 11.64 yards per attempt through to games. He scored 18 touchdowns and his longest run traveled 77 yards.
Fort Hill’s Bush (6-3, 171, Sr.) finished with 489 yards on 28 receptions and he scored 14 touchdowns.
Arigo (5-9, 181, Sr.) finished as the Sentinels leading tackler with 57 solo stops and he had 27 assists. He recovered a fumble and recorded four sacks.
King (5-8, 130, Jr.) finished with 55 points, fifth on the team.
