St. Andrew’s Day celebration set

MOUNT SAVAGE — The annual St. Andrew’s Day Celebration at The Castle will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.

Admission will be canned goods for the Mount Savage Food Pantry.

Free safety seat checks Wednesday

SOMERSET, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police is conducting free child safety seat checks Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at its station at 142 Sagamore St.

The event is part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s “Click It or Ticket” campaign.

County plans to regulate piercings and change rules for tattoo parlors
While Allegany County regulates tattoos, it does not currently regulate body piercings, but the county health department is planning to change that situation soon.
Legitimate tattoo and piercing shops are cooperating in the update, county health officials have said.
