FINZEL — A Finzel resident was arrested Friday and more arrests are pending in connection with alleged manufacturing of methamphetamine, according to Sheriff Rob Corley, spokesman for the Garrett County Narcotics Task Force.
The Maryland State Police at the McHenry barrack received a call Friday in reference to methamphetamine possibly being manufactured at a Finzel address.
Troopers from the McHenry barrack and investigators from the Garrett County Narcotics Task Force responded to the Sunset Vista residence just off Beall School Road. An investigation by the task force led to a search of the property and discovery of materials commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine in addition to a small amount of methamphetamine and marijuana.
Police arrested 27-year-old Charles Edward Johnson III of Sunset Vista, Frostburg, on an outstanding warrant and charges of manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.
Johnson was released from custody after posting $3,000 bond Saturday, according to Garrett County court documents.
Charges are pending on an additional two occupants of the Sunset Vista residence as the investigation continues, police said.
The Garett County Narcotics Task Force was assisted in the investigation by the C3I Narcotics Task Force and members of the Allegany County Hazardous Incident Response Team.
