Fire of an unknown origin destroyed this residence in the 13800 block of Cecil Avenue extended in Cresaptown on Sunday. The Allegany County 911 center alerted various fire and rescue companies at about 2:40 p.m. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Garrett County commissioners OK transportation plan
The Garrett County commissioners approved the county planning commission’s recommended priority list for nine projects, one of which is new, to the State of Maryland Consolidated Transportation 2014 Plan.
