Early start on spring chores

Tom Keating of Frostburg unloads brush Tuesday at the Allegany County compost site in the North Branch Industrial Park off PPG Road. Keating made two trips with brush from three trees. With a milder winter than normal, Keating said he was getting an early start on spring yard work. The site is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Allegany County residents can drop off grass, leaves, brush and tree limbs four inches or less in diameter. Residents can take composted mulch free of charge.
