Attendees of the annual Town Centre Tree Lighting Ceremony look up at Santa Claus, right, as he appears on top of the Cumberland Arms apartment building in downtown Cumberland on Friday evening. With the lit 25-foot Norway spruce in the center of Town Centre, decorated store front windows and illuminated building rooftops, historic Downtown Cumberland evokes the memories and emotions of Christmases past. This year’s tree was donated by the Janis Johnson and family of Haddon Avenue.  Proceeding the tree-lighting ceremony, community members and leaders took part in the annual Candle Light Walk. Coordinated by the Salvation Army, the walk raises money to help needy children in Allegany County.
