Call for spay/neuter
low-cost program
CUMBERLAND — The Allegany County Animal Welfare Society will be taking calls for its HART Express Spay/Neuter program on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at 301-724-0446.
Participants in this low-cost program must meet income guidelines and spots are limited.
Public can comment
on state forest plans
CUMBERLAND — The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is calling for public input to management plans for Potomac Garrett, Green Ridge, Savage River, Chesapeake and Pocomoke state forests for fiscal 2014.
The proposed work plans can be viewed at dnr.md.gov/forests/workplans/index.asp. Comments should be emailed to JPERDUE@dnr.state.md.us and should reference the specific forest work plan with a page and item number.
Deadline for public comment is Feb. 8.
