County to discuss sewer project
CUMBERLAND — The Allegany County commissioners have scheduled a public meeting pertaining to an upcoming sewer project in the Highland Estates area in the Bedford Road Sanitary District near Naves Crossroad on Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. in Room 212 of the Allegany County Office Building on Kelly Road.
This project is in response to a consent order from the Maryland Department of the Environment to address wet-weather related sanitary sewer overflows. The sewer system will be rehabilitated and/or replaced. The project is scheduled to begin in the spring.
Paul Kahl, director of the county Department of Public Works, Utilities Division Chief Mark Yoder and Project Engineer Daniel DeWitt will discuss details of the project and answer questions.
