CUMBERLAND — A 61-year-old Cumberland man was robbed of his bingo winnings late Monday but the quick help of a passing motorist led to the arrest of the 17-year-old city boy who allegedly robbed him.
The victim apparently did not seek medical treatment after he was assaulted and robbed in the area of Blackiston Avenue and Industrial Boulevard. He had finished playing bingo at the South Cumberland Marketplace, formerly known as Ames Plaza. The suspect reportedly removed money from the victim’s coat pocket after knocking him to the ground.
